Cannabis Coconut Oil Recipe

Ingredients:

• 1 cup of coconut oil
• 1 cup of finely ground, decarboxylated cannabis

Equipment:

• Slow cooker
• Cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer
• Glass jar for storage

 

 

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Cannabis: Ensure your cannabis is decarboxylated. If you haven’t done this yet, spread your finely ground cannabis on a baking sheet and bake it in the oven at 240°F (115°C) for about 30-40 minutes. This process activates the THC, enhancing the oil’s potency.
2. Combine Ingredients: Place the coconut oil in the slow cooker and add the decarboxylated cannabis. Stir gently to mix.
3. Slow Cook: Set the slow cooker on low and let the mixture simmer gently for 2 to 4 hours. Remember, slow and low is the key here; you want to infuse the oil without burning the cannabis.
4. Strain the Oil: Line a strainer with cheesecloth and place it over a glass bowl or jar. Carefully pour the oil mixture through the strainer. Let the oil drain naturally; avoid squeezing the cheesecloth to prevent extra plant material from entering the oil.
5. Store: Transfer the strained oil into a glass jar or bottle. Seal it tightly and store it in a cool, dark place. The oil can be kept for up to two months without refrigeration.
